Regions

The Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association has divided the Commonwealth into regions, all of which have regional representation on the Executive Committee. Each Region conducts it’s own regional meetings. As a member of MRPA you are invited to attend any or all of the regional meetings and/or any special sessions that are conducted by a region.

Next Meeting Date January 11, 2013

We hope you are enjoying the holidays and get a chance to take a little time off to spend with family and friends.  The next Northeast Regional Meeting will be held on Friday, January 11 at 10:00 am in Concord.  A copy of the agenda and directions are attached.  If you have anything you would like added to the agenda please let us know.  We will send out an updated agenda and reminder after the first of the year.

At the last meeting we talked about what department’s program policy and % split’s are with contractors / vendors?  I have received a few program policies / % splits and will email them out before the next meeting.  If you haven’t sent me your policy and would like to, please send it by January 9, 2013.

Lastly, “MRPA is challenging each one of you to reach out to a community in your region that is not represented in MRPA or to someone that has not been active and invite them to a regional meeting.  A personal invitation is always nicer than just the email.  To encourage our members to reach out, we are offering an incentive; if you bring someone to a regional meeting as your guest, you will get a prize.  The prize is your choice between an MRPA item or a Dunkin Donuts Gift Card, your guest will get the item you do not choose.”

 Happy Holidays,

 Karen Simmons and Brendan Egan
